Genre: F/F Romance

With one revelation, her world will shift forever.

Rebecca has everything she ever dreamed of in life: a family, a beautiful home and good friends. When Callie moves into the house across the street, Rebecca is quick to welcome the young writer into the tightly-knit community of Autumn Leaves. She has no idea that Callie will confront her with a truth about herself she might not be ready to face.

All Callie wanted was to flee the big city and finish her latest book in peace, but life in the small town comes with unexpected temptation and danger.
“Let’s see, you bring me food and booze. You’ve known me for five minutes and still haven’t said I talk too much, and you’re fixing my faucet? You’re already my favorite neighbor.”

You could be mine, Rebecca thought, pleased. She set down her cup and got up. “All right, I need to get Maggie from practice in a little while, so I better get started.” She discarded the cardigan and hung it over a chair, stepped out of her pumps and put them underneath. The black T-shirt she wore and the slacks were fine for this kind of work. She could come up with a verdict quickly. “I think it’s just the mounting nut under the sink that needs to be tightened.”

“Um…” Callie didn’t seem to know what to make of that piece of information. “Whatever you say.”

“Don’t worry, it’s nothing serious. Cole’s prices are outrageous anyway. So what do you do?” Rebecca asked, still half-buried under the sink.

“I write,” Callie said.

“What kind of things?”

“Lesbian erotica.”“Ow!” Getting upright, Rebecca promptly hit her head. Callie had some kind of humor. A good thing Betty wasn’t here or the story would have easily topped the no-name-Hollywood-actress one.“You want me to work on your pipes and not mess up the job, don’t say things like that.” “Why? It’s true.”

Rebecca came out from under her temporary workplace to look at her neighbor skeptically. “There’s a market for that? Really?”

“I can afford to keep this house, if that’s what you meant.” Callie’s tone was somewhat guarded now.

“Sure. Whatever.” There was an indiscreet question on the tip of her tongue, and Rebecca thought she’d better finish here before it slipped out.

“I write all kinds of things.” Callie sighed. “This is just one section, you know. If you want to ask, just ask me already.”

“None of my business. The faucet should be okay now.”

“You’re welcome.” Rebecca let the water run for a moment, then turned it off, satisfied that there was no more noisy dripping. “I’m sorry,” she said after a moment of hesitation. “It’s your life. I didn’t mean to judge.”

“Well,” Callie said somberly, “sometimes, when people say I talk too much, I suppose they’re right.”

“No, they’re not. I asked. If you want some advice, though, don’t tell everybody. News travels fast in a small community.” Realizing what she’d just said Rebecca shook her head. “Now listen to me. You’ve been here for a day and I’m already scaring you off. I’m sorry.”

“No harm done. I appreciate the warning. Besides, I write children’s books too. Oh, and, Rebecca…?” Her hand already on the door handle, Rebecca turned around. “Feel free to come over whenever you like. I’ll be here most of the time, writing, and I love distractions.”

Rebecca felt ridiculously relieved that Callie didn’t begrudge her the earlier misunderstanding. “I’ll remember that,” she said. “Don’t forget to call off the plumber.”

Genre: Contemporary Romance

Release Date: May 19, 2015

Publisher: Entangled Brazen

Avery Yeung’s biological clock just went off early. Thanks to her family’s medical history, she’s running out of time to get knocked up. And the only guy within donating distance? Her overprotective—and irritatingly hot—best friend. So clearly she needs an anonymous donor…

Anonymous donor? Over Sheriff Drew Flannery’s dead body. While daddyhood will never be in the cards for a man with his past, Drew won’t let Avery shop for a “popsicle pop.” He’ll do what’s right for his best friend by doing his best friend. But only if they do it properly.

But there’s nothing “proper” about it. Between the bed, the kitchen counter, and against his squad car, Avery and Drew are having the hottest sex ever. They can’t get enough of it—or each other. And without knowing it, they’ve crossed the one line that could ruin their friendship forever…

See where it all began with book 1 of the Out of Uniform series, In Bed with Mr. Wrong.

Her dark hair slid over her shoulder as she bent to examine the veggies he’d chopped, which led his mind right into the gutter, imagining how it’d look spread out over his pillow. From there it was a slippery slope right into checking out the way her small breasts filled out that white T-shirt, and how her jeans clung damn near lovingly to her ass. She looked good in her clothes. It was only logical that she’d look even better out of them.

Wait. She said yes.
He was going to have sex with Avery Yeung.
Sweat broke out on his forehead. Would she arch against him when he touched her? He’d heard the sounds she made when she drank that coffee she loved so much. Would she make the same ones while he tasted her? Drew’s mouth watered at the thought of having her spread out and there for the taking.
Fuck. This is really happening. He opened the fridge and pulled out two beers with shaking hands. After opening both, he handed her one and raised his in a toast. “To making babies?”

“Let’s not get ahead of ourselves.” Avery laughed, though she looked a little pale. “To making a baby.”

PG-rated excerpt: Watch Me by Jennifer Lynne

My hands clutch like claws against the window pane. The glass, frosted by Melbourne’s mid-winter cold, is icy beneath my fingertips. I let the coolness seep into my flesh, grounding me. I am waiting, but he’s late.

We have an arrangement, this neighbor of mine and me. At the start of every working week, late on a Sunday night while the rest of the city sleeps, we play a game. A dangerous, addictive game.

I don’t even know his real name, and yet this game of ours, and his presence in my life, has grown to fill the recent emptiness. It consumes me. He consumes me, but in a good way. I am becoming whole again, thanks to this man and our seductive, secret play.

But it is half past midnight and he is not yet at his post. The window in the apartment across the narrow alleyway is still dark. The red brickwork surround is lit by a street lamp that only serves to enhance the darkness within, making the square appear fathomless. It looks like an empty eyeball socket in a skull whose soul has long departed the physical world.

A thought grips my heart and squeezes painfully. Perhaps he’s grown tired of it all? Perhaps he no longer wishes to play?

A whimper slips from my lips and the resultant breath frosts the glass in front of my face, obscuring my reflection. What will I do to satisfy this insatiable need if he’s not here anymore to fill the void? My shoulders slump and even though I’m reluctant to give up this lonely vigil, I am about to concede when a square of golden warmth lights the window opposite. Just like that, between one click of a switch and the next, my anxiety turns to heady excitement.

Yes! I need this. I need you.

While I’m not offering anything this time around, I have a question for you as an author.

As most know, I don’t particular care for New Adult romance.  Its too angsty for me.  Too much drama, too much “Oh, I need that person to complete me”, too much abuse, sex, drugs, etc.  You get the point.  My 20’s were AWESOME!  I was well adjusted, had a great job, apartment, friends and the occasional date.  I didn’t need a man to complete me.  In fact when I broke up with the high school/college sweetheart I felt a sense of relief.

That said, I love Young Adult.  They are supposed to be drama filled books.  Teenage life is no picnic and I get that.  I remember when I was a teenager.  Everything was tragic and drama filled.  LOL!

So here’s the question:

Would you read a trilogy following the same couple from high school until after college?  Heroine is a year older than hero, they don’t live in the same town, well adjusted, no drugs, no abuse.  Just a story about how two people that didn’t see love coming for them, came anyway.  Dealing with living apart at times (no cheating) and dealing with jealous siblings.  What do you think?

Its what I’m working on now and I love it.  I just feel like no one else will because its a humorous romantic comedy trilogy set in the YA/NA world.

Let me know what you think.

Review of Vegas Miracle by Liz Crowe w/a 6 mo. Kindle Unlimited Sub. Rafflecopter Giveaway!

by Liz Crowe

Ryan and Grace Sullivan have all the outward indications of a happy life: money, success, an undeniable physical attraction that quickly evolved from whirlwind relationship to marriage. But lately, Ryan’s become moody and distant. As their relationship starts to crumble, Ryan discovers something about himself he can’t admit just as Grace realizes the young man she encounters at an invitation only party, Henri Christophe, a celebrity chef with the most successful restaurant in Las Vegas, is her husband’s lover. But Henri holds a secret himself. He wants to be more to both of them.

As they attempt to make their unconventional arrangement work, Ryan’s deep-seated fear of relationship failure continues to thwart everyone’s happiness. When he finally walks away instead of confronting the emotional connection the trio shares, he returns to find their lives flipped inside out. A sought after hotel and resort consultant, Ryan has yet to meet a problem he couldn’t solve. But when it comes to his own heart, he may be too late.

Excerpt Four:

(short but telling)

When Henri bent down to kiss her lips and let his tongue caress her a moment before he raised himself up and off her, she felt more wrong than she ever had, but somehow right a the same time. Pulling the blanket back up to cover her sated body she stretched again and flipped over.

When her eyes met Ryan’s across the room she yelped. Her husband sat directly across from the massage table, a drink in one hand, the other arm stretched over the back of the couch. His eyes shone with the sort of light that made her want to weep.

“How long have you been sitting there,” she demanded.

“Long enough, baby.” He drained his glass, set it on the table and made his way over to her. “Long enough.”

She sighed as he knelt down, pulled her up and kissed her hard and deep. His bourbon-tasting lips were delicious.

“Did you like your Vegas surprise,” he asked as he pulled her to sitting and wrapped his arms around her. But he pressed his mouth to hers before she could answer. The familiar strength of his body, the crisp feel of his dress shirt against her naked skin, the clean smell of his cologne all enveloped her at once and she wrapped herself around him, ready to thank him in a way he’d never forget.

Its me again with an author review.  Yes, this is Harlie from Harlie’s Books and there is a good reason I didn’t review this for that blog.  Most of readers just don’t understand Liz and her books.  She’s polarizing at best but I love her stuff.  Yes, is some of it hard to read?  You bet but that’s what makes a great writer.  She doesn’t write formula romance and I will admit that I get a tad pissed off at characters in her books but in the end Ms. Crowe knows what she is doing.

Take Ryan for example.  Happily married (at first) and showers his wife, Grace with gifts and just stuff.  What she wants is a husband that she married at the first.  Unfortunately, Ryan knows that there is something missing from his life and when Henri walks in, he knows that’s what he wants, too.  I know, it’s a menage romance but Liz makes it work.

Liz writes intelligent, thought-provoking menage.  A married couple that doesn’t need a third to spice it up but a third that will complete Ryan’s feelings for another man.  Yes, he loves both Henri and Grace.  Grace isn’t too sure about the relationship at first but she soon learns that she can love them both.  I did at times want to slap Ryan upside his head.  Grrr…but that’s what makes this story work for me.  Marriage is messy.  Sex is even more messy and love…well, messy doesn’t even begin to describe it.  Liz writes from her heart in this one and you can tell with her characters, plot and even the place.

Liz is one of my favorite writers and NO ONE writes menage like her.  Its super hot, sexy and it makes sense.  She shows all sides of the threesome.  From the attraction, to the sex, the emotional fallout and eventually how it can all work out in the end.  Of course this being a Liz Crowe book there are huge bumps along the way.  Misunderstands not withstanding, there is communication in the end.

If you tend to shy away from the “let’s get real romance” than Liz isn’t for you.  She doesn’t sugarcoat it with her characters and her story.  Her characters feel, hurt, love, get mad at each other but in the end come together beautifully.

I know that from Harlie’s Books perspective, I don’t read a lot of menage anymore.  It bores me because it’s the same thing over and over.  Sure there is heat but no real connection to the characters and usually some writers just bring the third in so they can get their own book down the road.  Liz doesn’t do that with Grace, Henri and Ryan.  There story is complete with a couple of pop ups in other books so don’t worry about that.

Overall, do yourself a favor and read this book.  Yes, its unconventional but that’s the point.  Liz makes sense of it all and seriously peeps…sometimes you can have your cake and eat it too.
